Valencia Cavalcade 9th Oct 2008

This is likely to have been the biggest gathering of 15th century re-enactors ever. Hundreds of people in medieval costume took part in a grand cavalcade on the evening of Thursday 9th October.

The route of the parade wound through the streets of Valencia, past many of its finest medieval buildings, through the old walls and gates, and into the central basilica and cathedral of Spain's third-largest city.

The cavalcade was led by fifteen fully-armoured knights and sixty “light cavalry”, provided by Griffin Historical Ltd. The vast majority of these were flown out from the UK specially for this event.

We hope to be able to post photos and reviews of the event very soon.
